The Runaways, circa 1977. Rhythm Guitar: Joan Jett, Lead Guitar: Lita Ford, Vocals: Cherie Currie, Bass: Jackie Fox, Drums: Sandy West. Joan Jett later became the front woman after Cherie left, before she formed the Blackhearts and Lita went on the heavy metal stardom. There are some better audio versions on YouTube without the great live footage.
Good grief this band is older than me but it's so freaking awesome!
Look at the natural beauty of them all! The lead singer has more sensuality in her pinky finger than the whole of the spice-girl clones of today put togheter.
Why can't we get more female bands like this on this day and age?
That's a good question, Edsan. I wish I knew the answer. Another interesting fact about The Runaways, they wrote and played their own songs...yup, they were actually musicians.
While I was never a huge Lita Ford fan, she did become something of a heavy metal star/sex symbol back in the 80's.
East Coast Gamer.
One time Rabble-Rouser.
Self styled D&D Grognard.
God fearing Father of two.
Happily married Man of many, many interests, too many to list.
OK, really just D&D and ...Well, that's it really. D&D.
