Friday Flashback

A few flashbacks for your listening and viewing pleasure tonight, from the inexplicably never-big-in-the-States mod/punk trio The Jam. One of the greatest three-man bands ever? Had I the time that would be a fitting tribute to yesterday's unveiling of Three-Headed Monster Games, but for now three from this legendary threesome will have to suffice:

In the City, live at the Circus:

All Around the World, live on the Marc Bolan Show:

And finally, the classic To Be Someone, live:

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Ahhh..The Jam! I love that band! They weren't nearly as influential as they should've been. In the City, All Mod Cons and Sound Affects were some of my favorite albums. It was cool to see Marc Bolan footage too. I mean, how many talk show hosts wear a leopard print jump suit on the set?!

What, no Eaton Rifles?! Great band.

Yeah, All Mod Cons...fantastic album. I'm also a fan of Setting Sons, even though it was considered the band's "sophomore slump".

When I was coming of age, The Jam, The Clash and The Replacements were my default bands.

Hmmm, FF has a definite 'Mats void.

As I mentioned, too many great songs by The Jam. Hard to be picky until you see the lack of decent live vids.
